KNOW MORE ABOUT JAPANESE CULTURE AND IMPROVE YOUR JAPANESE SKILLS WHILE LIVING IN JAPAN
KUMAMOTO LANGUAGE PROGRAM is a program conducted by the Asian Hope Camp Organization Lifelong Education Center.

Period: You can join the program any time in the year and it could last from 1 month to 1 year.
Training Hours: The number of training days is 20 days including Saturdays for a month participation program.
12:30 to 13:30 lunch break with a language program scheduled for 4 hours a day.
Course Details: Japanese language classes, presentations, cultural experiences, field trips, small group lessons, language exchanges.
The participants will take intensive Japanese classes in the morning and visit Kumamoto's corporations for briefing sessions and field trips in the afternoon.
Tours, cultural experiences and visits to related institutions will take place in Kumamoto and its surrounding area.
Accommodation fee : 1,200USD for a single room and 1,000USD for a double room
The accommodation fee is required to join the program (including all expenses for check-in, administrative expenses, deposit, entrance expenses, electric gas supply, and Internet expenses) at the comfortable KAIDA residence in the heart of the city, training fee (4 hours a day), certificate of completion, and report card issuance.
Certificate of completion : get a national recognized certificate that establishes your level after finishing the program.
After the program is over, you can freely interact with your Japanese friends, and visit Japan before going back home.

なごみ日本語の理念は、教師が常に勉強をしなければならないことと、学生が楽しく学ぶことです。日本語の研究者だけに研究を任せていてはいけないのです。 学習者は、教師を信頼して教えてくれと言っているのだから学習者のことを本当に思っているのなら、自ら研究していかなければならないのです。馬場先生は学生に質問をする回数が多いです。質問された学生が答えるまで待ち続けます。質問された学生がわからないと答えても、質問や聞き方を変えたり、他の学生に聞いたりと、自分で説明することはあまりありません。学生が質問をしてきたときも、「なんだと思う？」と自分で答えに近づくまで、なかなか答えを教えてくれません。理由を聞いてみると、教師が説明するのは簡単で時間もかからないが、人に教えられたことよりも自分でひらめいたことの方が価値があるからだといいす。馬場先生のモットーは他にもあります。「教壇には立たないこと」、「名前を覚えること」の２つです。
人間関係は、日本語教育の現場でも非常に大きなポイントです。言葉を交わさなくても、出会った瞬間からコミュニケーションは始まっています。心を開くためには、コミュニケーションをする人との信頼関係があり、仲が良くなければなりません。第一に心の交流があり、心が通じた上でことばをやり取りしていれば、自然と少しずつ身に沁み込んでいくものです。信頼関係が築けていない学習者と教師では、言語をスムーズに身に着けることが難しいと思います。「日本語を教える」ことが先にあるのではなくて、まずは外国人が日本社会で生きていくために、そして彼ら、彼女らを迎え入れるために、何が必要なのかを考えること。その一つとして日本語教育があるんだ、という認識が重要だと思います。学習者の母国や文化について知ることも、信頼関係を築く上で重要なことだと考えています。
「学習者を知る」ことが、学習者が求めている授業をするうえで大きな力となるでしょう。このように、日本語教育は、人間と人間のコミュニケーションです。このコミュニケーションを疎かにしていると、いろいろな問題が生じてしまいます。馬場先生のなごみ日本語教育は最初から「共生日本語」「やさしい日本語」でした。共生日本語は、日本語母語話者の日本語を規範とし、学習者にそれを習得させることではなく、ネイティブ、ノンネイティブといった関係を取り除いた上でなされるコミュニケーションを目指したものです。一番重要なことは自分の話す、書くことがきちんと相手に伝わっているかを常に確認し、相手の言うことも理解しようとする姿勢です。相手を一人の人間として関心を持っていれば当たり前のことだし、そうなれば話す言葉も自然と「やさしく」なっていくと考えています。

Refund Policy
Up to 2 months before departure: 100% refund of all fees except for deposit
Up to 1 month prior to departure: 50% refund of fees except for deposit
Up to 2 weeks before departure: 20% refund of fees except for deposit
From 2 days before departure: Refund impossible.
The deposit of 100USD is not refundable but you can use this deposit for other program of Asia Hope Camp Organization within 1 year.
