In my memory, the clusters of sesame buds are very special. With the clear eyes of a five-year-old child, the image of flower clusters. The bright red swaying in the summer breeze along with the green foliage, the sun umbrellas slanting through the leaves are indeed fragments of pristine memories of perception and being overwhelmed by beauty. But the bunch of flowers fell into the yard, fell into the lake. I realized that when the petals bloom most beautifully, it is also when it is about to leave, a very fragile reality, so the painting is reproduced on the surface, a nostalgic material, vividly present but very fragile. The two states of blooming and falling are used as a koan to remind us of the cycle of human life.
The paintings are reproduced on nostalgic materials, appearing vivid but very fragile. Pottery itself has a very long history. I want to emphasize the antiquity of those pieces of memory, so fragile that it can be broken, chipped, cracked. When you break them, it's not intact anymore. That is my intention for this piece. Just like the memories I mentioned, its birth and death are just as fragile. Now in my hand, a few minutes later it can be broken.
